What to see in Pompeii, Sorrento, and Capri

Firstly, we will reach Pompeii the first leg of this tour, positioned between Salerno and the large city of Naples. Everyone knows the very tragic history of this ancient town, which was buried by ashes due to the Vesuvius eruption in 79 AD. The town’s ruins were recovered miraculously untouched thanks to long and arduous archaeological works. Because of this occurrence, Pompeii is one of the most important international archaeological sites. In fact, Pompeii can be considered as a unique testimony of the ancient inhabitants’ lifestyle.  Among the main site attractions, we remember:

  • Stabian Bath
  • Pompeii’s forum.
  • Amphitheatre of Pompeii

In the southern part of the Gulf of Naples stands the pretty town of Sorrento, the second stop on this tour. Sorrento has been visited by international tourists since the beginning of the 20th century. However, the city was even included in the so-called European “Grand tours” of some very famous and wealthy artists some centuries before. Tourists arriving in Sorrento are undoubtedly fascinated by this charming town where they can find numerous noteworthy monuments, including:

  • the Terranova Museum
  • the Palazzo Veniero
  • the Cathedral of Sorrento
  • the Basilica of Sant'Antonino

The last stage of this splendid tour is the Pearl of the Mediterranean. This is the expression used forever to define Capri. Well-known for its incomparable beauty and its lush nature, Capri is situated in front of Sorrento Peninsula. Capri is popular because of iits touristic life and it is frequented by several international VIPs. Our tour establishes the visit of different places: Marina Grande, the port where our visitors will land; from here, who is interested could go to the famous Grotta Azzurra, (Blue Grotto), whose postcards are known everywhere. Subsequently, visitors will reach Anacapri, in the highest place of the island from where it will be possible to enjoy an unbelievable Panorama looking at the Gulf of Naples.

At the end of our tour, on the third day, we come back to Naples, where we meet the bus for the return ride to Rome. The return is scheduled in the area of Termini station, near our Green Line Tours office.

For logistical reasons, the name of the Hotels where you will be staying at Sorrento and Capri will be notified on the day of departure. On higher turnout dates, the overnight stay in Sorrento will be subject to reconfirmation with possible additional charge.
