The real force of Bergman’s cinema, often underestimated, is that of his approach to emotional, vital and empathic cinema, far from the cliché of an intellectual and obscure art and open to games, irony, experimentation and sensuality. To provide his artistic universe, the retrospective also includes a handful of movies by directors to whom loved, including several films whom has repeatedly referred to as his favorites over the course of his career, like Chaplin, Fellini, from Tarkovskij to Murnau, from Sjöström to Dreyer and Antonioni.
